STUDY        WORK        PERSONAL        About

As an alumni of Parsons School of Design, my education allowed me to experiment with several methods of understanding our built environment through the use of wood and metal shops, drafting and 3D modeling programs, and an affinity for architectural model making. These were fundamental in my position at the university as a Student Technician in a Laser Cutting and 3D Printing Lab. Alongside being a technician, I was also able to intermittently gain experience at a CNC machine shop. Both these opportunities allowed for a sensible awareness of current methods and technologies applicable in my continued explorations into architecture and fabrication. Most importantly they provided a framework for safety and shop etiquette that I still carry with me today.

The majority of my experience to date has been in the realm of Exhibition Design. This has given me the opportunity to expand my skills within a somewhat small scale architecture, while gaining an understanding of various building methods along the way. My position in a small design build office provided me with responsibilities rarely managed by a single person. As a project manager and lead fabricator, I have contributed in all stages of a project from early schematic design, client meetings, and all the way through fabrication and assembly. In addition, my experience includes managing office and shop environments, directly corresponding with clients and vendors, full-scale prototyping, model making, and detailing of various construction methods. This included three multi-venue traveling exhibitions, three temporary exhibitions, and two permanent exhibits. Alongside managing and executing the majority of fabrication, I have also been responsible for traveling and leading eight different installations and de-installations. One of the above mentioned projects included assisting in the design, fabrication, and installation of the award-winning 2018 US Pavilion for the London Design Biennale, a collaboration with the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum.
